Dota 2: B8 will have a new roster

A few months ago, one of Dota 2’s biggest stars Danil “Dendi” Ishutin announced that he would create a new team under the name B8. Although it featured a few promising players, Dendi and co. were unable to live up to the expectations. As a result, two of the B8’s members decided to part ways with the organization.

Who leaves?

The first player finding himself a new team is Remco “Crystallis” Arets. Although he is one of the best carries in the world and one of the few people that reached 11,000 MMR, he couldn’t unleash his full potential. Besides him, the second player that’s also going to change his team is Dmitriy “Fishman” Polishchuk. This was B8’s position five, who joined the squad back in June after another roster change.

The recent changes in B8 mean that Dendi’s team has changed by more than 10 players. We won’t be surprised if we see an entirely new roster for the next DPC season. In fact, B8 said in the announcement that they are “under construction”. We really hope that Dendi will be able to gather a new roster that can compete against the best teams in the region.

For now, the only players that are a part of B8’s roster are Danil “Dendi” Ishutin, Oleg “LastHero” Demidovich, and Enis “5up” Elfki. Feel free to follow DartFrog on TwitterFacebook, Instagram, and Twitch for the latest Dota 2 news.

OGA Dota Pit Season 4 is coming to Europe in December

Just a day after OGA PIT announce that they would host a tournament in China, it turns out that there will be an EU/CIS version as well. According to the latest announcement the tournament should arrive in mid-December and will have a prize pool of $150,000.

The event

November was a pretty sweet month for Dota 2, with tons of tournaments in Europe and CIS. We got to see the best teams in action and now we will do so once again. Alongside OG and Alliance, we will witness Team Nigma, Na’Vi, Virtus.Pro, Vikin.gg, mudgolems, and Just Error in the upcoming event. Sadly, we won’t see Team Secret, the best team in the world right now. It seems that Puppey and his teammates decided to take a break so they can prepare for the upcoming DPC.

One thing we can’t wait for is the release of the new patch. Valve announced that 7.28 will arrive in mid-December, which means that it’s pretty likely that OGA Dota PIT Season 4: EU/CIS will become the first tournament on the new patch. Needless to say, it will be very interesting to see how the changes may impact the game.

The event itself will host a standard double-elimination format. We will have two groups, in which each series is played as a best-of-three format. Of course, the Grand Final will be Bo5.

Cyber Legacy completely scraps its Dota 2 roster

There are a few big names in the CIS Dota 2 industry, one of which was Cyber Legacy. The team had a pretty good roster with plenty of potential. Sadly, due to COVID-19 and a lack of good results, the organization has just decided to release their entire roster.

Cyber Legacy decided to rebuild their roster from the ground up after releasing four of their players. The last member who was still a part of the team was Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev. Supposedly, he had the uneasy task of rebuilding the team and preparing it for upcoming events.

Sadly, it seems that they weren’t able to complete this task because Cyber Legacy has announced that it’s final player is free from any contractual arrangements. Cooman became a part of CL in July after being inactive for three months. Prior to that, he was a part of Virtus.Pro.

We still don’t know why CL’s roster wasn’t able to live up to the expectations. It contained some pretty decent players, combined brought plenty of experience. Sadly, we might have to wait until the pandemic is over before we see this organization back in the Dota 2 competitive scene.

As for Cooman, we will keep following this incredible player and see whether he will be able to find himself a new team.

5MEN disband after just a few months

Even though the team was created just a few months ago, 5MEN no longer exists. The team was due to take part in the EPIC League Division 2, but it decided to forfeit all of their series. Even though they won a few matches already, those series will also be counted as losses.

5MEN was a truly interesting team formed at the end of July. Back then, Rasmus “MiSERY” Filipsen and Johan “pieliedie” Astrom decided to join forces. They also added Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard to the roster, with the team trying its luck in the OMEGA League. This was the first tournament that featured a prize pool of over $1,000,000. Although the team played pretty well, it was eventually relegated to the second division, where the prize pool was only $50,000.

Following the event, 5MEN took part in several other tournaments, but they weren’t able to achieve much. They just started competing in the EPIC League, but after the decision to disband, the team withdrew from the competition.

We will keep an eye on everyone who’s a part of 5MEN’s roster. Hopefully, they will be able to find new teams soon. Feel free to follow DartFrog on TwitterFacebook, Instagram, and Twitch for the latest Dota 2 news.

Just Error secures a spot in EPIC League Division 1

Even though the team was formed just a few days ago, Just Error has managed to secure the last spot for the EPIC League Division 1. During the last couple of days, we got the chance to watch the closed qualifiers of EPIC League. After numerous interesting matches, the last series was between Just Error and Yellow Submarine. The stakes were pretty high here, and many were eager to see the end result.

Many considered YS to be the favourite, yet they were unable to win. Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev and his team-mates absolutely ripped through their enemies.

What happened in the series?

Just Error is the newest CIS team in the Dota 2 world. It has some of the best teams in the region, including the ex-EG player Syed “SumaiL” Hassan, who is widely regarded as one of the best mid laners in the world. His core-role partner is RAMZES666, who is back on the carry role after he played as an offlaner during his time in EG.

The first game of the series against Yellow Submarine was great to watch as both teams tried to pressure the enemy squad. Even though the Snapfire-Mars combo was really deadly, JE’s Drow + Vengeful lineup proved to be stronger. As a result, the CIS team were able to deliver a knock-out punch and get ahead in the series.

It seems that the loss had a positive impact on Yellow Submarine as because they looked fully motivated in game two. They decided to pick a draft focused around Slardar, a hero that’s famous for his devastating right-click damage. Fortunately for them, he had a fantastic time and was the main reason for their success.

Despite the dominant performance in game two, the next two maps went in favour of the CIS powerhouse. Sumail and Ramzess proved once again why some people consider them to be two of the best core players in the world. Thanks to them, Just Error successfully secured a spot for Division 1.

As for Yellow Submarine, they will move down to Division 2. The teams they’ll find there are not on their best form, yet they’ll still have to face off against the likes of Gambit and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Be sure to watch this amazing event which starts on the 12th. Don’t forget that the prize pool is $500,000 – which is pretty big for an event of this size.

Cyber Legacy rebuilds their squad

After a few disappointing results, the Russian eSports organization Cyber Legacy has announced that they will change their roster. Many thought that they would keep at least two or three players, but it turns out the organization decided to leave only Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev.

Who will join the new team?

The main reason for Cyber Legacy’s decision was their poor results in recent tournaments. Although the team had a good squad on paper, they were simply unable to live up to expectation. Recently they finished last at ESL One Germany after being eliminated in the Group Stage.

What’s interesting is that the team still received an invitation for the EPIC League closed qualifiers. This is a tournament with a prize pool of $500,000. Sadly, CL had no other option but to withdraw from the competition after they made the announcement.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about which players will be joining Cyber Legacy. CeMaTheSlayeR, Bignum, Magical, Blizzy, and their coach ArsZeeqq are no longer a part of the team, which means that they are officially free agents. Hence, we might see them in a new CIS team soon.

Mudgolems put an end to Team Secret’s 4 month streak

Ever since COVID-19 took over the world and the Dota 2 pro scene moved to an online format, Team Secret has easily been the most dominant team. In fact, they’ve won pretty much every tournament that they’ve played in.

However, it seems their luck has come to an end, as they’ve finally lost against Mudgolems. This was their first loss in over four months, which means that they will have to play in the LB of ESL One Germany.

What happened?

Needless to say, Mudgolems was an underdog in this series. In fact, most expected Team Secret to rip through them, but this never happened. Fata- and his team-mates had a four-day break and it seems that they used that time to learn about Secret’s weak spots.

The first game of the series looked pretty even during the drafting stage. Nonetheless, Mudgolems’ last pick Chaos Knight proved to be a little bit too strong for Secret to deal with. Furthermore, the team also used their IO and Undying for rotations around the map, which allowed them to have enough space for their cores to farm. Although Secret tried to bounce back, their efforts were futile and they had to concede game one.

Victory had a massive effect on Mudgolems. Even though the panel didn’t give them much chance, Fata and Co. also dominated in the second game of this amazing series.

They decided to pick IO yet again, but instead of pairing him with CK, they went for Sven. This is one of those heroes that’s capable of winning the game on his own, as long as he gets a good start.

Team Secret tried to stick more to the meta, picking Phantom Assassin. This hero is generally considered to be a good pick against Sven, but it didn’t work this time.

The game began relatively slow as neither team was willing to make risky moves. However, once Sven got his core items, things quickly changed for the worse for Secret.

They didn’t really have an answer for Mudgolem’s aggression, which meant they had no other option but to use the GG call. Following the loss, Team Secret will have to play in the LB of the event. On the other side, Mudgolems have secured themselves a top-three finish at ESL One Germany.

Fn is now a part of SoNNeikO’s team

The professional Dota 2 scene has been really interesting in the last couple of months. All regions went through massive roster changes, including CIS, where we saw some of the most surprising ones yet.

As you probably know, Akbar “SoNNeikO” decided to create his own team after being inactive for a couple of months. He reached a few aspiring CIS Dota 2 players and formed a team called Live To Win. Although he announced the full roster early on, it went through a few changes.

FN joins SoNNeikO and the rest

Following the changes, we now know the name of the last player who will become a part of SoNNeikO’s squad, Rostislav “fn” Lozovoy. He’s a famous CIS player that was a part of some of the best teams in the region. Most recently, he played for VP.Prodigy, where he helped plenty.

He will take the place of Egor “Ergon” Kozo, who decided to take some time off. FN will be taking over the mid lane, whereas Igor “iLTW” Filatov will be taking over the carry role. He is one of the best CIS players in the world and will definitely help his team-mates.

Here’s Live to Win’s roster:

  • Igor “iLTW” Filatov
  • Rostislav “fn” Lozovoy
  • Vasily “AfterLife” Shishkin
  • Alexander “Immersion” Hmelevskoy
  • Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev

We expect to see the team in action in just a few weeks. There are two events that will take place in Europe and CIS within the next fortnight, so there is a pretty high chance that SoNNeiko’s new team will take part in one of them.

Gambit Esports confirms their new roster

Gambit Esports is one of the biggest names in the CIS Dota 2 scene. There were times when many considered this squad to be among the best in the world. However, a series of roster changes had a negative impact on their results. COVID-19 didn’t help matters either, which is why the team decided to make a fresh start.

Fast-forward six months and we finally have information about the team’s new roster. What’s interesting is that there is only one returning player from the previous roster, Danial “xsvamp1re” Alibaev. He will play alongside a few upcoming CIS players. Although they don’t have a much in the way of competitive experience, these players have shown that they have what it takes to be on the team.

Gambit’s new roster:

  • Anton “yy” Shkredow
  • Artem “Lorenof” Melnik
  • Andrey “meLes” Romanov
  • Danial “xsvamp1re” Alibaev
  • Albert “eine” Garayev

If you’ve been following the CIS Dota 2 scene recently, you’ve probably heard of ‘eine’. He was a part of VP.Prodigy and also played on a few other notable CIS teams. Moreover, he used to be a part of Gambit for a few months back in 2018.

The second name that might also seem familiar is ‘Lorenof’. He played in the OMEGA League Europe Divine Division that took place a few months ago as part of Team Unique.

We can’t wait to see the new team in action. If you want to learn more information about them, feel free to follow DartFrog on TwitterFacebook, Instagram, and Twitch for the latest Dota 2 news.

Alliance is the first team to qualify for ESL One Germany playoffs

Despite the fact COVID-19 changed the Dota 2 scene, there are still various online tournaments that are fantastic to watch. One of the most anticipated events of the year is ESL One Germany, featuring some of the best teams in the world.

Two of those teams are Alliance and OG. Both went head to head to determine which one will qualify in the playoffs. As you probably know, the format of this event is interesting because it allows each team that wins three series to advance to the playoffs. On the other hand, if another team loses three times in a row, they are eliminated.

Alliance vs OG

Alliance and OG went head to head in one of the most anticipated series of the event. Prior to this clash, both teams had two wins. This means that one of them is automatically going to the playoffs. Although OG had the lead in game one, Alliance was able to turn the series around. In the end, they won with a score of 2:1.

Game one was entirely in favour of OG, as their Phantom Assassin + Magnus ripped through the competition like a knife through butter. Alliance tried to counter this pick with a position 5 Omniknight, but even he was not enough to stop the monstrous damage from OG’s carry.

Following the loss, Alliance decided not to take any chances, which is why they’ve picked Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov’s Morhphling, which is one of his signature heroes. Needless to say, the Bulgarian superstar played near-flawlessly and was able to push the series into a final game three.

The last game of the series seemed to be in OG’s favour. Nevertheless, Alliance won a few team fights in a row, which gave them plenty of momentum. As a result, they started pressing their enemies. After yet another perfect Chronosphere, Nikobaby and his team-mates delivered their knock-out punch and secured themselves a spot at the playoffs.

After the loss, OG will now have to win one more series to advance to the next stage. We have three more days until the group stage ends. As for the playoffs, they will start on 23 October and it will feature 12 teams in total.
