Team Secret wins the OGA Dota PIT Season 3

It seems like nothing can stop the march of Team Secret. The European powerhouse managed to win yet another tournament after a nearly flawless performance. This victory means that Team Secron has won its last 8 Grand Finals.

What happened?

Team Secret had little to no problems winning this event. The team ripped through their competition like a knife through butter and had to play against VP.Prodigy in the grand final. VPP is one of the biggest surprises of the event and proved yet again that this is the future of the CIS Dota 2 scene.

Sadly, the team was unable to stop Team Secret from winning yet another event. Game one was really close as both Team Secret and VP.Prodigy had a good laning stage. In fact, VPP even took the lead at one point, but after a few wrong moves, the Europeans managed to regain control of the game. Needless to say, a team that’s as experienced as Team Secret managed to keep the lead and won the first game of the series.

It seems that the loss had a negative impact on VP.P’s performance as they couldn’t do much in game two. Unlike the first game of the series where they were really aggressive, the CIS team played super defensively. They’ve decided to pick heroes that have plenty of team-fight potential, but Team Secret knew how to deal with it. After just 33 minutes, Team Secret was able to deliver a knock-out punch and claimed the victory.

Just one game away from winning the event, Team Secret looked unstoppable. They decided to pick some of their best heroes and absolutely crushed their enemies. As a result, they became the OGA DOta PIT Season 3 champions.

Don’t forget to watch the other upcoming events. Even though we’re still waiting to hear more about TI 10, there are plenty of games worth watching.

rmN- will continue to substitute KuroKy in the OGA Dota PIT Season 3 EU/CIS

We are just a few days away from the beginning of the OGA Dota PIT Season 3 EU/CIS. We will once again see some of the best teams in the world fighting for that impressive prize pool. Of course, one of the main favourites to win the entire event is Team Nigma.

The European powerhouse has been in excellent form recently, although they’ve been playing without their leader KuroKy. Unfortunately, the legendary Dota 2 player will continue to be away due to his injury. This means that Roman “rmN-” Paley will continue to be a stand-in for the team.

rmN- steps up

In case you’ve forgotten, the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 took place in July this year. This was when we first learned that Kuroky won’t be able to play for his team. Even though he is an integral part of Nigma’s success in the last couple of years, Kuro had to go through a specific physical therapy.

Sadly, the player picked up an injury, which prevented him from taking part in the Dota PIT Season 2, as well as the OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division. Luckily, Nigma actually managed to find a really good substitute in the face of rmN-. As expected, the player will continue to fill in the gap left by Kuroky, until the player is back on track.

So, here is the full Nigma Roster for the upcoming event:

  • Amer”Miracle-” Al-Barkawi
  • Aliwi “w33” Omar
  • Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Borislavov
  • Maroun “GH” Merhej
  • Roman “rmN-” Paley

Be sure not to miss this event because it’s going to be interesting to see what will unfold. Even though many don’t believe it, we think that Nigma has what it takes to put an end to Team Secret’s reign.

Valve decides to extend the TI 10 Battle Pass

The Battle Pass for TI 10 is truly different from what we’ve seen so far. Apart from the fact that it contains plenty of surprises, it’s also become the longest-lasting due to Valve’s decision to extend it. This probably doesn’t come as surprise as the Immortal Treasure III hasn’t been released yet.

The announcement also shed some light on the Arcana vote winner, alongside information about the last Immortal Treasure.

Sadly, this year has been pretty rocky. Like everything around the world, the Dota 2 scene was affected by COVID-19. As a result, Valve made the hard decision to postpone the biggest event in Dota 2 – The International. To make matters worse, we still don’t know an exact date for when will the event take place.

Despite all the negatives, we finally have some good news. Valve has officially decided to extend the Battle Pass for three more weeks. Originally, it was planned to end on the 19th of September, 2020. Now, we’ve been gifted a few extra weeks of epic action.

The TI 10 Battle Pass will end on the 9th of October. In addition to the extra days of fun, this also means that TI 10’s prize pool will have the chance to become even bigger. Right now, it’s reaching $37,000,000, which makes it the biggest prize pool in the history of the game.

We’ll also have the chance to see a new bundle. If you purchase it, you will receive 60 levels at a 30% discount, which is pretty impressive. If you want to know more information about the update, make sure you read the full update.

33 and Fata join mudgolems

The OMEGA League has ended, but the big Dota 2 roster shuffles have only just started. Although the Chinese region is definitely more active, we’ve already started to see big changes in Europe.

We’ve recently learned that there will be a BTS Pro Series Season 3: Europe/CIS. As a result, many of the players that didn’t have a team quickly decided to give it a try. That’s why Adrian “Fata” Trinks and Neta “33” Shapira are creating a team named “mudgolems”.

BTS Pro Series 3: EU/CIS

The event will take place just a few days from now, and by the looks of it, it’s going to be amazing. We’ll get to see nine of the best teams across two regions. They’ll be going head to head for a $50,000 prize pool. This is significantly less than the OMEGA League, but it’s still a decent amount of money for an online event.

After the community found out about Fata and 33, mudgolems received the final invitation. Although this was surprising, we think that it was the right decision as the team will definitely make the event more interesting to watch.

As you probably know, Fata and 33 have been playing together for a few years now. They’ve started in Ninjas in Pyjamas and even went on in Alliance. However, the Swedish powerhouse decided it was time for a change, which is why it removed the two players from its roster.

After their removal, neither Fata nor 33 played on the big stage. 33 tried to help OG in the ESL One Los Angeles Online: EU & CIS, but that’s pretty much it. Now that both players are back in action, anything could happen.

This is mudgolem’s current roster:

  • Oliver “skiter” Lepko
  • Dusko “BoraNija” Boranijasevic
  • Neta “33” Shapira
  • Milan “MiLaN” Kozomara
  • Adrian “Fata” Trinks

The BTS Pro Series Season 3: EU/CIS begins on the 12th of September. The first challenge ahead of Fata’s new squad will be against Khan. They are a fairly new team as well, so the clash will surely be exciting to watch.

OMEGA League Season 2 to arrive in October 2020

We are just days away from the end of this amazing event. Even though we are yet to see who will win the OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division, we already have news about the second season of the OMEGA League. This probably doesn’t come as a surprise as the first season was magnificent.

The event started in the middle of August and it features twelve of the best teams from EU and CIS. The prize pool for this region was $500,000, which made this one of the biggest online Dota 2 events ever.

New Season

According to the official information, the second season of this league will also have two divisions. Needless to say, we will once again see a bunch of European and CIS teams, which is always good. However, there are also some pretty notable changes.

The first one is that there won’t be twelve teams anymore. Instead, we will only have ten teams that will play in a round-robin format in the group stage. Once the group stage is over, the top four teams from each will advance to the upper bracket of the playoff. On the other hand, the teams that finish from fifth to eighth will have to battle in the play-in stage. There, they will meet teams from the lower division. Lastly, the last two teams from each group will automatically be moved to the second division.

We still have around a month to go before the actual event begins. However, we already know the names of some of the participants:

  • Team Secret
  • Alliance
  • OG
  • Team Nigma
  • Team Liquid

As for the prize pool, we will once again have a total of $500,000 for the first division and $50,000 for the second. Of course, we will also have qualifiers, which will start on the 28th of October.

Gambit Esports and fng part ways

There are many legendary players in the Dota 2 CIS scene. Although most of them play core roles, there are also plenty of support players, such as Artsiom “fng” Barshak. This player was a part of Gambit Esports for some time now, playing a major role in the team and winning a number of events.

Nevertheless, after spending some time with Gambit, fng’s contract came to an end. As a result, he and the organization have decided to part ways.

Gambit & COVID-19

Gambit Esports was one of the most promising teams in Dota 2. However, the team failed to keep up with the rest due to COVID-19. As you know, the virus completely changed the competitive Dota 2 scene, which had a massive effect on just about everything. Unfortunately, some of the smaller organizations couldn’t adapt to the change, which is why they’ve released their Dota 2 rosters.

Due to the fact that Gambit didn’t take part in most events, fng decided to team up with Alliance. He’s been playing as a stand-in for the Swedish powerhouse for some time now and even took part in two grand finals. However, no one from the team has officially confirmed that fng was a part of it. What’s interesting is that many people have tried asking Alliance’s players this question, but they were never answered.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with the talented CIS player. Currently, he is once again helping Alliance in the OMEGA League Europe Immortal division. The EU squad is battling for survival in the lower bracket of the event.

OMEGA League Europe – Alliance survived, the server crashed, and more

We have many an epic series ahead of us, and yesterday was an interesting day for the OMEGA League Europe Immortal Divison. Initially, the day would include two amazing battles between some of the best teams in the world. We got to witness one of them, the second one was postponed.

Sadly, there was some sort of issue in the Dota 2 servers. Needless to say, this didn’t allow the teams to compete (Team Liquid vs 5MEN). As a result, the tournament organizers decided to postpone the match for Tuesday. This means that we will be able to watch it tomorrow.

Here are a few of the things that happened in the match between Alliance and FlyToMoon.

FlyToMoon played well, but it was not enough

Before this series started, everyone thought that Alliance were going to be the winners. Even though they succeeded, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. In fact, it seemed that the European powerhouse had underestimated their enemies, especially in game one.

Although they had the better pick, the CIS team completely outplayed its enemies and managed to win with little to no effort. Alliance relied heavily on Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and his Slark. Sadly, the Bulgarian superstar was unable to shine because FTM were all over the map.

After seeing what happened in the first game of the series, the CIS team picked the same heroes, thinking that Alliance didn’t have an answer. However, little did they know, the mighty TI 2 champions learned pretty quickly how to cope with FTM’s draft.

As a result, they’ve won the laning stage easily and pushed the series into a final game three. Considering the fact they had the momentum on their side, Alliance was able to dominate the third game as well. They had the better draft and thanks to Gustav “s4” Magnusson, they won a few teams fights in a row. This game them the needed advantage to deliver their knock-out punch, which sent FTM to the Divine division.

Don’t forget to watch the series between Team Liquid and 5MEN tomorrow. Feel free to follow DartFrog on TwitterFacebook, Instagram, and Twitch for the latest Dota 2 news.

OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division – The competition so far

The OMEGA League: Europe Immortal division is the hottest tournament of this summer. Due to COVID-19, Valve made the hard decision to postpone the DPC, as well as The International. As a result, instead of watching the best teams in the world playing against each other in Sweden, we have to focus on a few online events.

However, these are no ordinary online events. The OMEGA League features the best teams from Europe, CIS , Americas, and Asia. While it’s true that every region is pretty interesting, you can’t deny the fact that the European one stands out.

With that said, here is what happened so far.

Team Secret and OG dominate the competition

As expected, the two European giants are having the time of their life in the group stage of the event. Despite being in the same group, the two teams haven’t met each other yet. So far, both of them have won every series, which means that they have six points. It will be really interesting to see what will happen because the winner of this match will most likely win the entire group.

Team Liquid’s performance is dreadful

Team Liquid was one of the squads that many considered to be the hidden favourites. However, the ex-Alliance roster has been heavily underperforming. As a result, they are currently occupying the last spot in their group with 0 points.

We really hope that TL will be able to resolve its issues after this event is over because it’s just sad to see them like this. It’s very likely to see a lot of drastic roster changes, even though this team has been together for nearly two years now.

What’s next?

We still have two more days until the group stage is over. Although we already know the names of some of the teams that will certainly advance further in the event, there are some spectacular series ahead of us, such as the one between OG and Team Secret.

Of course, let’s also not forget the first one, where Virtus.Pro will meet Evil Geniuses. As you can imagine, this will be a breath-taking match because there is a lot of history between these two teams. Also, don’t forget that one of EG’s players Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev used to be a vital part of VP before.

Artstyle is back with Virtus.Pro

If you are an old-school Dota 2 player, you probably remember Ivan “Artstyle” Antonov. He is one of the oldest and most reputable CIS pro players that used to be the best in the world. Now, after a few months of being inactive, he decided to come back to Virtus.Pro.

Artstyle in VP

After TI 9 came to an end, Virtus.Pro went through many changes. As a result, the team suffered a lot in the first couple of months. However, after they’ve added a few new players, the CIS powerhouse now looks to be stronger than ever.

In their most recent matches, VP has proved that they are one of the leading Dota 2 forces at the moment. They’ve absolutely ripped through the competition in the Parimatch League Season 3. Nonetheless, it seems like they need just a little bit extra in order to go toe to toe with Team Secret and the other European titans.

Some expected to see a roster change, but it turns out that VP decided to bring back Artstyle. The Dota 2 veteran will take over the coaching role, which is extremely important nowadays. In case you’ve forgotten, he used to be the VP’s coach in 2017 and 2018, which were arguably the best years in Virtus.Pro’s history.

As a player, Artstyle took part in numerous teams, including the legendary Natus Vincere squad that won the first-ever T1. However, he hasn’t been an active player for a long time, deciding to focus on coaching instead. Needless to say, he’s pretty good at it, so we can’t wait to see what will happen with VP.

The next challenge ahead of the CIS powerhouse is the OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division. The group stage of this incredible event will begin in just four days. If you want to learn more about it, feel free to read our preview.

OMEGA League Europe Immortal Division Overview

We are just a few days away from the beginning of the OMEGA League. The tournament organized by WePlay! and Epic Esports Events will feature the best teams from Europe, CIS, North America, and South America.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about the event.

Format

https://twitter.com/WePlayDota2_/status/1290976870113173506?s=20

The Immortal division will have a total of twelve teams. Ten of the participants were directly invited, whereas the other two had to go through qualifiers. The total prize pool for the event is $600,000. However, Europe will take “only” $500,000.

The twelve teams will be placed into two groups with six teams each. All the matches there will be Bo3, and the top two teams will advance to the Upper Bracket of the playoffs. The team that finishes third will move to the Lower Bracket of the playoffs.

The fourth and fifth-placed teams will have to fight in the Play-in Stage. Depending on their performance there, they will either end up in the Divine Upper Bracket or Immortal Lower Bracket. Lastly, the team that finishes last in both groups will go to the Upper Bracket of the Divine vision.

As for the playoffs, we will see a classic double-elimination bracket where every single game is Bo3. However, the Grand Final will be a Bo5.

Teams

Alongside the top European & CIS teams, the tournament organizers decided to let Evil Geniuses take part as well. Even though they are a North American team, the prize pools for the region aren’t good, which forces the team to compete outside their territory.

Apart from EG, the other team that definitely stands out here is Team Secret. Needless to say, Puppey and his team-mates have proven themselves as the most dominant force in Dota 2. Ever since COVID-19 destroyed the DPC, the European powerhouse won pretty much every event they played in, which is just impressive.

Another name that’s going to be interesting to follow is Alliance. Nikobaby and co. have had a few fantastic months. In fact, if it wasn’t for Team Secret, the TI 3 champions would have won numerous events. Even though they’ve lost almost all of their matches against Secret, Alliance proved that they have what it takes to win against the best teams in the world.

Last, but definitely not least, we have Team Nigma and Virtus.Pro. These two powerhouses have been truly dangerous lately, which is why we believe that they have a solid chance to win, although their journey won’t be easy.

How to watch?
